Currants don't get used enough. Whenever you eat them you think...I like currants, I should eat more currants. Now's your chance! These Zante currants go by many names - Corinth raisins, Corinthian raisins, or....simply currants. They are dried berries of the small, sweet, seedless grape cultivar Black Corinth. The name comes from the Anglo-French phrase "raisins de Corinthe" and the Ionian island of Zakynthos, which was once the major producer and exporter. A lot of info for sure...they are also great in a scone or a cookie!
