Created by the Uplands Cheese Company in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Pleasant Ridge Reserve is the most decorated cheese in American history. Made in the tradition of such great alpine cheeses as Gruyere and Beaufort, Pleasant Ridge is produced exclusively from May to October when the cows are able to graze on fresh pasture. The flavors of Pleasant Ridge Reserve are rich, deep and smooth with pleasant hints of caramel, salt and flora. The length of flavor is truly extraordinary. The texture of the cheese is firm but smooth, with an orange-brown rind and a caramel-gold colored interior paste.
