Prosciutto di San Daniele is produced only in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, the hilly area around the town of San Daniele in the province of Udine, in the upper north-eastern part of Italy. The complex character of Prosciutto di San Daniele is the result of fresh breezes from the Dolomites mingling with the humid winds from the nearby Adriatic Sea. When we open a leg, it has the undeniable aroma of green apples. This fruity aroma gives way to a rich and sweet flavor and a buttery texture. Aged for at least 16 months and sliced paper thin, it's ready to eat straight from the paper, on a panini, or wrapped around melon. Size & shape of the slices will vary, but they will always taste great!
