Pasteurized Cow - Beemster - Netherlands
This mild and creamy gouda is produced in Northern Holland. It then travels to the USA to be slowly smoked over smoldering hickory chips. The final product is velvety and silky with a dark, smoky rind. The paste maintains the rich creaminess of Beemster Gouda, but with subtle smoky undertones. For some reason, smoked gouda always makes us think of hiking and camping. It's fantastic with cooked and cured meats, on sandwiches or even as a burger topping.
