Vero Lucano is a collective of artisan bakers located in the city of Matera in the Basilicata region in southern Italy. They produce handmade breads, taralli, and pasta products using historical recipes from Matera using the high-quality durum wheat that has been cultivated in the Basilicata region since the 14th century. Their Taralli Natural are a crunchy multigrain ring-shaped snack made with four flours: durum wheat, corn, fermented oat, and malted barley. Sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and fennel seeds add flavor and a rustic texture. They’re excellent with salame, hard cheeses, and olives as part of an antipasto tray, or served with a pate.
